Erste Wiener Productiv Genossenschaft der Musik Instrumentenmacher was founded in 1900 as a worker's co-operative, taking over the tools of the deceased Leopold Uhlmann, Jr. Florian Sladek (d. 1918), who had been trained by Uhlmann, was active in the firm which flourished in Vienna until 1940.
