Attended Lowell's School of Business with a degree in Administrative Management/Bookkeeping. Worked as a Secretary/Bookkeeper for a Jewish Rabbi. Attended Broome Community College and BOCES for credit courses. Worked for Broome County Auditor, as well as a law firm. Married Ronald E. Woodruff, Sr. (Graduate of the 1st class of Chenango Valley Jr., Sr., High School). We had 4 boys and 2 girls (lost one girl at birth and one son in a car accident). We lived on the East Side of Binghamton. I stayed home until the childred started school. I also baby-sat 8 children for my friends. I dedicated my life to several community projects, plus PTA, non-school sports and activities, school activities and sports, Cub and Boy Scouts, Brownie & Girl Scouts, Meals on Weels, counseling for a law firm on divorce, etc. After starting full time work again, I raised my children on my own. I went to work for Buckingham Manufacturing for several years, Ozalid Corp, International Forwarder, exporting and importing material for several years. I then worked as an Administrative Assistant/Bookkeper for Olsten Health Services, ABC Supply, Inc. and am currently with Billitier Electric Contractor, hoping to retire in a few years. I am a Notary Public for New York State. I have been a member of Triple Cities Traffic Club and Southern Tier World Commerce Association for several years training to export, import and ship material, banking, etc. My children have given me a total of 9 grandchildren, and as of May 15, 2002, I became a great grandmother with a little boy of 11 lbs., 4 oz. (not little). I remarried to Joseph A. Polak and we moved to Vestal, NY with 4 of the children. I spent every day driving back and forth to North High until one son graduated. Two of them ended up graduating from Vestal. I inherited 5 stepchildren and 4 more grandchildren from my remarriage. I still live and have always lived in Broome County. My children have kept me young and I still love to travel, golf, relax at my cottage in Canada, use the computer, etc. I have Fibromilgia of the muscles, so some days I am limited to doing things, but I keep going, going, going like the energized bunny! |
