Jr. Prom Committee
![]() After graduating from high school, I married and had three children in the next two years. (I had twins.) My marriage ended in divorce. I remarried, and my husband got killed in Vietnam. I married again, had a son, but got divorced in 1975. I have remained unmarried since that time. I have four children, two sons--Joseph and Christopher--and two daughters--Valora and Valerie. My girls both have children, so I have a total of four grandchildren--Jordan, Phillip, John and Angelica. In the middle of all my marital heartache, I went to Broome Community College. I was in the RN program. After that, I continued my nursing at Syracuse Upstate. I opened a family care home and provided care for mentally ill men and women in my home for the next 12 years. I moved to Corning in 1984 and became a manager of a Hess gas station. I remained working there until I was injured on the job in 1997. I am now disabled. I have since gone back to college. I received an A.A.S. in Business Administration from Corning Community College this past December. I majored in accounting. My hobby is raising parakeets. I have had birds for the last 12 years and find them to be very funny and entertaining pets. My retirement dream is to own a large home and take in abused and battered young women and to be a loving "mother hen" to them. The highlight of my life was in 1980 when I received Jesus as my Savior and became a born again believer. I attended The First Assembly of God Church in Binghamton. I moved to Corning to attend a church here. I taught home-ec to 8th grade boys in our Christian school, as well as being a Sunday school teacher for many years. I have run the sound machine and worked with the worship team as well. Because of my close relationship with Jesus, my once painful life has been turned into a blessed and beautiful and fruitful life. I am looking forward to a revival that will sweep our country and that we will, again, be one nation "under God". It is time for America to bless God, for if we don't, God can't bless us. |
